Well-made yo-yo...it's also a "feel" thing Review by Jake
Value Quality Price I am a big fan of the M1 from One Drop and I thought it was a good idea to step up to a Project 2 when they came out.
It feels awesome as the grooves in the gap give it a great texture. Great on grinds, and to me, it's look is different than anything out there. Honestly, there are so many yo-yos that I can't tell apart from a distance of a few feet away. Artistically, they nailed it.
When I first got the P2, I anxiously got it out to throw it. I wasn't enamored at first. I liked it, I just didn't love it right away. This thing is pretty heavy. It's wide. I wasn't used to it. However, even though I didn't get it at first, I immediately could do tricks easier on this thing. Once I got used to the differences between the P2 and my M1, I don't play the M1 much any more. And grinds? Easy.
Binds are awesome, and one thing I like about it is that it isn't noisy. There isn't nearly as much of that aluminum 'ring' with the P2 than there is with some of my other metal.
It's like driving a big luxury car with a ton of power; It's got a V-12 under the hood. It's solid, stable, and dang is it fast once you get going. It's my favorite throw right now and has been for a few months, which is really saying something. It plays like those $120+ dollar yo-yos for a lot less. I have thrown a Peak, BVM, Skyline (I own one), 888, DV888, Wooly Marmot and a superstar since I bought it, and I still prefer the P2.
Mine has no vibe at all. Great throw. (Posted on 8/14/09)
